Final product
When the product is finished and ready to
enter production, one step is still remaining to complete the
process. The final product is what the clients will see in the
shop, when they receive their internet order, or a salesperson
shows it to them. The client is the ultimate destiny of all
products, but before that, they go through other hands. The
warehouses where the product is stored before being sent to
the distributors or importers and the retail shops are
important in the supply chain. Just as important as the good
design and functionality of the product, so it can pass the
corresponding tests.
The product is formed by several things, and they are all
important. The product should have a user manual, which must
be carefully written to make it easy to follow. The manual
should be translated to several languages, at least the most
common ones. (English, German, French, Italian and Spanish)
and if possible, some additional languages like Chinese,
Japanese or Russian. Generally some are missing and it
complicates the set up and usage of the product. It is
convenient to have a “Quick Start Guide” and even a datasheet
with technical details and support, with the information
related to warranty. This way we avoid problems and provide
the most accurate and complete information to make life easier
to the customer.
The user manual should also have accurate pictures and
drawings. Don’t consider using the outdated pictures and
drawings from years ago just to save a bit of money. Manuals
with pictures of other products or old pictures are shameful.
It is a bit ridiculous if a company cannot invest a little bit
in something as important as the user manual. It must be
clear. You, as manufacturer, know the product and how to use
it, you could set it up with your eyes closed, but your client
can not. Making it easy for them with a good manual is the
best way to have them start a positive relationship with your
product. Do you want your client happy or unhappy? Happy,
right? Then do what it takes to get there.
A whole other story is the final packaging. Some have pretty
random designs to try and surprise the final client, but they
don’t consider other parts of the supply chain like the
warehouses. Some blister designs with strange shapes are hard
to manipulate, impossible to stack on a pile and take up a lot
of space. Why do we want a triangular blister? It is a real
waste of resources and after all the design might not be that
impressive. Do you imagine a ball shaped blister and all the
products rolling around the store? Be reasonable, the
distributors and shipping companies will appreciate it and
anyway the final client will not buy it because of your round
package. First of all, the client wants quality, durability
and performance, not a cute package which will only be ‘cool’
in the unboxing videos and will go to the bin in less than ten
minutes.
We design packaging with common sense, effective, clean and
reasonable.
We produce user manuals and Quick Start Guides, as well as
technical and support manuals in all the languages offered by
our agency.
We prepare the content of every manual: text, photographs,
drawings, charts, etc.
We propose ideas so you can surprise your clients when they
unwrap the product. The package counts, what’s in it counts
more.
